MortalAnonymous I Love It.. 2 May 20 2009, 6:15 PM EDT by timbone86

I actually didn't want to watch Sit Down, Shut Up at first. The commercials made it look filthy and dumb. Then I caught the tail end of the pilot, was intrigued, and gave it a chance. I'm glad I did because it ended up being great! And I don't feel that it deserves the brutal slandering that it's recieved. It's probably hated so much because it's not another Family Guy.

The humor is the kind you have to think about to find funny. You need to pay attention. The light references and hints it uses to make you use your imagination are wonderful. It also misleads you a couple of times, making you think they're just doing poorly, but then they explain why something happened, and I at least burst out laughing because they actually got me! That's hard to do! I find most TV ridiculously predictable.

I love also the way the characters have flow. And I don't mean Miracle. I mean they're loose, free; everyone has a clear position and stands out. Usually I hate the main cast of a cartoon, even if I like the cartoon itself, but not in this case. They're all likeable in their own way.

Most bad reviews I've seen are from people who only watched a few minutes of the pilot. At least watch the whole thing before judging! A few minutes doesn't even get you past the introductions. You need to watch the meat of the show to gather a proper opinion.

I feel the show has great potential, what with the great actors, likeable characters, possible yet silly plotlines, its being dialogue-based (a nice twist), and interesting animation style. It's nice also to see a teacher-based series rather than student based. It's a new and different idea. With all of this, I fail to see why Sit Down, Shut Up goes so underappreciated.

As a teacher, I find the show funny; it reminds me of all the disappointing teachers I have worked with. The show also makes me sad for the same reasons.

The show should not air at times when children have the opportunity to watch. There is inappropriate sexual content and if children were to understand the show, their view of teachers will change for the worse. Teachers are to be viewed as professionals in the eyes of children. I fear this show misleads children into thinking that all teachers put children second :(

The more I think about it...I don't think the show should continue. We need to send productive messages to adults, children, and other educators.
